D’abord formée en arts visuels, en construction textile ainsi qu’en confection sur mesure, Émily a ensuite décidé de se diriger vers la scénographie avec l’envie de créer divers univers visuels, de donner vie à des tableaux poétiques. En 2021, elle obtient son diplôme du Conservatoire d'art dramatique de Québec. C’est un amour profond du vêtement, de son histoire et de toutes les possibilités d'expression qu'il offre qui l’a vite poussé à se spécialiser en conception de costume.
Dès son entrée dans le milieu, elle se plonge dans plusieurs collaborations avec la scène lyrique de Québec, notamment à l’Opéra de Québec, où elle signe la conception des costumes de plusieurs productions dont, entre autre, L’Elisir D’amore (2021), Don Giovanni (2022) , La Chauve-Souris (2024) et La Cenerentola (2025).
Côté théâtre, elle conçoit, entre autre les costumes pour l’adaptation théâtrale du roman N’essuie jamais de larmes sans gants, de Jonas Gardell, présenté au théâtre du Trident en mars 2023 et repris chez Duceppe en décembre de la même année, ceux de The Quarterlife Crisis, de Catherine Côté, présenté au Périscope en 2025 et ceux de la pièce Le Chiard, d'Isabelle Hubert, présenté à la Bordée en 2026. Elle signe également la conception des costumes du tableau Féroce Croustillant Carnaval de l'édition 2026 de Où tu vas quand tu dors en marchant?.
Prochainement, il sera possible de voir son travail sur la scène de La Licorne où elle prendra part à l'équipe de Suzanne va sortir, de Maxime Beauregard-Martin.
***************************************************************************************************First trained in visual arts, textile construction as well as custom tailoring, Émily then decided to study scenography, with the desire to create various visual universes, to bring poetic ideas to life. In 2021, she graduated from the Quebec Conservatory of Dramatic Art and it is her deep love of clothing, its history and all the possibilities of expression it offers that quickly pushed her to concentrate her practice in costume design.
A particular interest in slightly surreal worlds, symbolism and history nourishes her artistic approach and her designs are greatly inspired by movement and colors.
Upon leaving the Conservatory, she took part in several project with the lyric scene of Quebec, notably at the Opéra de Québec, where she designed the costumes for several productions including, among others,L'Elisir D'amore (2021 ), Don Giovanni (2022) and La Chauve-Souris (2024).
On the theater scene, she designs, among other things, the costumes for the theatrical adaptation of the novel N'essuie jamais de larmes sans gants, by Jonas Gardell, presented at the Trident theater in March 2023 and replayed at Duceppe in December of the same year, for The Quarterlife Crisis, by Catherine Côté, presented at Le Périscope in 2025 and for Le Chiard, by Isabelle Hubert, presented at La Bordée in march 2026. She also signed the costume design for Féroce Croustillant Carnaval, one of the show of the 2026 edition of Où tu vas quand tu dors en marchant?.
In the near future, she will take part in the team of Suzanne va sortir, by Maxime Beauregard-Martin, presented at La Licorne in november 2026.
